Mabel and Tom Bush

Mabel and Tom Bush (under 18's) of the Huntington Branch of the Childrens Union (Brothers and Sisters Magazine) left for Africa and took the collecting boxes (money which is collected to help the childrens home) with them. The date was Jan 1896.

Mary Sheringham made a scrapbook

Mary Sheringham of the Dorothy Branch of the Childrens Union (Brothers and Sisters Magazine) made a scrapbook to send to Miss Tillard who would have in turn given it to a child on one of the homes for cripples. The date was Jan 1896.

Blanche Cousins

Miss Blanche Cousins ' a little girl of 5 years who stood alone on the stage, being dressed in white and pink said 'I declare this Bazaar open'. The bazaar was held in St Mark's Sunday School (New Swindon?) in 1896 by the children of the Children's Union to raise funds for the homes for deprived and crippled children. I have also a list of the stalls and stall holders.

Wild Flowers

April 1897 -Miss L Thackeray, Mapledurham Vicarage, near Reading, will gladly supply a aldy, living in London, with wild flowers each week or fortnight during the spring and summer months. The flowers will be gathered by the village children of Miss Thackeray's C U Branch, and packed securley and freshly by herself. Proceeds to be given to the Childrens Union funds. Misss Thackeray has also White Angora Rabbits for sale. Price 3s per pair; sent by rail 1s extra. Imagine if she was on your tree - what a little gem that would be...
